The Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen

By far the city's biggest attraction, it is dedicated to the history of aviation, particularly the Zeppelin airship. The museum is located on the shores of Lake Constance and is housed in a modernist building of the former harbor station, itself an example of functional architecture from the 1930s. The museum opened in 1996 and has since attracted visitors interested in, among other things, a full-scale reconstruction of the passenger section of the LZ 129 Hindenburg airship, one of the most famous airships in history.

Friedrichshafen Castle

A baroque mansion located on the shores of Lake Constance, which once served as the summer residence of the Bishops of Constance. Today, part of the building is inhabited by the Prince von Württemberg family. The history of the castle dates back to the early 18th century, when the Bishop of Constance, Johann Franz Schenk von Stauffenberg, commissioned the construction of a summer residence on the site of an earlier Augustinian monastery. Friedrichshafen Castle is surrounded by extensive gardens that delight with carefully designed alleys, sculptures and fountains. These gardens are open to the public, offering the opportunity to stroll in a tranquil setting with picturesque views of Lake Constance and the surrounding Alps.

St. Nicholas Church in Friedrichshafen

A neo-Gothic church located in the center of Friedrichshafen that is an important landmark, both architecturally and spiritually. The history of the church dates back to the early 13th century, when a smaller chapel was originally built on the site. The current building dates back to the 19th century, when it was rebuilt and greatly expanded after being damaged by wars and fires. Its distinctive soaring tower, rising 54 meters, dominates the area and is visible from many points in the city.
