Welcome to travel by bus to Gelsenkirchen!
Gelsenkirchen is a large city with county status in the western part of Germany. The city lies in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Ruhr region.
It is a large city with a population of over 250,000. The city, like other large cities in the Ruhr Area, was an important industrial district, especially during World War II. Gelsenkirchen suffered heavily from air raids and lost some of its importance after the war, when industrial production was no longer as large as before.
While in Gelsenkirchen, there are two things we recommend seeing in particular, the zoo and the stadium of the local football team. The zoo is highly rated by visitors and is divided into three zones, namely Asia, Africa and Alaska. In each of these zones you will get to know the animals specific to that region. The Gelsenkirchen Zoo is considered one of the prettiest in Germany, and is especially appreciated by children.
Our bus stop is located at ZOB/HBF, Bahnhofsvorplatz, stan. 11 in Gelsenkirchen, the zoo can be reached on foot in about 50 minutes, it is 4.6km away and the way from our bus stop is easy.
Another attraction recommended in Gelsenkirchen is a visit to the stadium of the local football team FC Schalke 04. The Veltins Arena is less than 7km from our bus stop. The football club from Gelsenkirchen has a lot of supporters and the stadium can hold more than 60.000 spectators. The stadium opened in 2001 at a cost of more than 190 million euros is considered not only one of the most modern in the Bundesliga, but also in the world.
