Herne - Cranger Kirmes.

Herne-is a city in Germany with county status. The city lies in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, on the Rhine-Herne river channel. Herne is very close to the cities of Gelsenkirchen, Bochum or Recklinghausen. There is even a subway line and a streetcar line that connects the cities of Herne and Bochum. Herne has about 150,000 inhabitants. Until the 1990s, a large river port operated here.

Do you know what Cranger Kirmes is? It's a giant carnival festival, right after the famous Oktoberfest in Munich. The host city of Cranger Kirmes is the city of Herne. It is a huge amusement park with magicians, roller coasters, carousels and other attractions for the whole family. This huge event only lasts for a few days a year and hosts up to 4 million people every year. The event is highly rated by visitors.

Another attraction that is equally highly rated by visitors is the Herne Historical Museum. Here we can see various exhibitions and many exhibits. You can reach the museum on foot from our Sindbad bus stop located at Bf. Busbahnhof Westring, Bahnhofsplatz, a distance of only 1km, walking time is less than 15 minutes.
