Innsbruck to located at 574 m above sea level, in the Inn valley, in the heart of the Alps, the Austrian city, capital of the Tyrol,. The past meets the future here. In the summer, too, there is no question of boredom, and the attractions this beautiful city offers are certainly not lacking. Especially recommended are the monuments of the Old Town. Among others, the famous Golden Roof - a building whose small balcony has a canopy decorated with 2657 gilded copper tiles, the representative Maria Theresia Street - the main drag of Innsbruck and the main shopping street with the department store Kaufhaus Tyrol or the imperial residence Hofburg with its grand ballroom and baroque cellar.
One of the city's major attractions is also the Nordkettenbahnen, a cable car that takes you practically from the center to the alpine backwoods at 2269 meters above sea level. On the outskirts of Innsbruck, the Alpine Zoo and numerous atmospheric alpine villages are worth a visit.
The unique charm of Innsbruck also lies in the stunning panorama of the mountain peaks surrounding the city. That's why, both during winter and summer vacations, it's worth planning an ascent of the 2,000-meter-high Seegrube for a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
Summer is the season for cultural festivals, such as the Early Music Festival and the Dance Festival. The Innsbrucker Promenadenkonzerte festival is a real treat for brass band lovers. Among 90 accommodations of all categories, you can find the right accommodation without the least. Numerous restaurants will satisfy the stomach of every tourist. And for lovers of the nightlife, 60 pubs, bars and discos provide entertainment.
The capital of Tyrol is therefore an ideal travel destination. It is the perfect base for exploring the Alps, whether by bike, on foot thanks to its network of excellent trails or on skis, thanks to its perfectly groomed slopes.
