This is a city that was granted city rights over 800 years ago. Today in Inowrocław history and modernity combine in harmony, creating a space to which tourists want to return again and again. The capital of Western Kuyavia is famous for its natural, entertainment and cultural assets. Add to this its convenient location, and you have a recipe for an ideal place for weekend sightseeing. Located on the banks of the Notec River, Inowrocław has a population of over 71,000. Add the fact that the city has the status of a health resort and is an important center of health tourism in our country.
The city's tourist assets orbit around facilities geared to accommodate visitors coming here for medical treatment. There are several sanatoriums in the city, offering a full range of health-promoting and nursing services. As befits a health resort, Inowrocław also has its mineral and medicinal waters, which can be tasted in the local pump rooms. The spa center is located to the west of the historic downtown area, and includes two Brine Parks, a Pump Room - "Inowrocławianka" Palm House and an impressive brine graduation tower. The latter facility is impressive in its size and led lighting. There are theories according to which the first brine graduation towers in the world functioned in Inowrocław, at that time used to produce salt. The graduation tower is primarily a salt inhalatorium, but is also used as an arena for cultural events and outdoor shows. Walking alleys, Nordic walking paths and bicycle routes are also meant to encourage the practice of a healthy lifestyle.
The city has a long and often painful history, of which the monuments that have survived to this day are silent witnesses. Many of the historic buildings have not withstood the test of time or armed conflicts. Among those we can visit today, for example, is the Romanesque Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The other temple, whose roots go back to the Middle Ages, is the three-nave, late Gothic St. Nicholas Church. In addition, lovers of sacred art should go to the monumental Neo-Romanesque Church of the Holy Virgin Mary. Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Garrison Church of St. Barbara and St. Maurice. However, Inowrocław is not only churches! Walking around the city, one should pay attention to the interesting bourgeoisie buildings. The oldest residential buildings preserved to this day are more than 200 years old. Also intriguing are the neo-Gothic building of the town hall, the modernist building of the Cooperative Bank and the sizable "Bast" hotel.
