Jasło is a city in Subcarpathian Voivodeship located at the junction of three rivers: the Wisłoka, Ropa and Jasiolka. It is inhabited by more than 35,000 people. It is one of the oldest cities in Podkarpacie - it received city rights (Polish) in 1262, and was located under German law in 1365. During the Renaissance era, Jaslo experienced a significant boom due to its location on a trade route. In the 19th century it began to industrialize, which was closely related to the discovery of oil deposits in the area. It was almost completely destroyed during World War II, and rebuilt after the war.
