Our company has been providing coach connections between different corners of Poland and Europe for years. High comfort of travel, affordable prices and a dense network of connections make Sindbad buses are gladly chosen by travelers. One of the points on the map of our connections is Jastrzębie-Zdrój - a city located in the southern part of the Silesian province, near the border with the Czech Republic. A glance at the map is enough to determine that Jastrzębie-Zdrój is well connected - it lies in the "fork" between the A1 highway and Route 81, the popular Wislanka. Such a location makes Sinbad bus Jastrzębie-Zdrój the best way to get to this town.
Jastrzębie combines two seemingly contradictory worlds: on the one hand, the mining industry has made its mark here, on the other hand, Jastrzębie-Zdrój enjoys a reputation as a former spa and a beautifully located town. Suffice it to say that Jastrzębie residents have at their fingertips the peaks of the Beskids, Goczałkowice Lake, the beautiful old town of Cieszyn or the industrial sites of Czech Ostrava. And what is worth seeing in Jastrzębie itself?
Let's start with bicycle tourism. The city government boasts that there are 26 city bicycle rentals in their area. The muscle-powered unicycle is an unconventional way to get around the city. A more traditional transportation solution is to opt for city buses, on which transport Jastrzębie-Zdrój mainly relies. Returning to bicycles, the more ambitious cyclists will surely appreciate the Iron Bike Trail, a well-prepared 55-kilometer loop running through 5 municipalities, including Jastrzębie.
Whoever doesn't feel like pedaling should go on foot to the Spa Park, the city's showpiece. It used to be the center of the spa, and today the park's facilities are a reminder of the former resort. While strolling through the park, we may come across a cafe, the Spa House, the City History Gallery, a library and an inhalatorium. What's beyond the park?
The most important memorial seems to be the monument at the Zofiówka mine commemorating the events surrounding the initialling of the Jastrzębie Accords. Among the religious buildings, the most impressive is the Church of St. Barbara and St. Joseph. It is a wooden structure from the 15th century, brought to Jastrzębie from Jedlownik. The most representative avenue in the city is considered to be May 1 Street. It is home to the best cafes and restaurants, as well as grand buildings: villas, a former hotel and the Church of the Blessed Sacrament.
Families visiting here with their kids should take the Sunday Recreation Center, a modernized recreational area, as their destination. There is a grand playground, a brine graduation tower and a paddling pool. Little athletes can also try their hand at the year-round Jastor ice rink or the Laguna indoor swimming pool.
