Kępno is a county town in Greater Poland Voivodeship. It has about 15,000 inhabitants, it is the southernmost town in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. This means that it is closer to other voivodeship cities, e.g. Wrocław, Opole than to Poznań.
Nearly the bus stop located on Broniewskiego Street in Kepno there is a market square, which is one of the largest in Wielkopolska. On the market itself there is also a majestic 19th century town hall and a fountain with swans.
On Ratuszowa Street, not far from the town hall itself, there is the Kepno Land Museum. There are many exhibits depicting the life and traditions of the former inhabitants of this region.
West of the market is St. Martin's Church. It is a Roman Catholic parish church located on Tadeusza Kościuszki Street. The neo-baroque structure designed by Roger Stawinski stood on the site of a former wooden temple.
East of the square on Łazienkowa Street is the Synagogue. The abandoned temple was destroyed by German soldiers during the war. In 1973 it succumbed to fire. In 1987-1993 it was renovated. There were plans to locate a museum there, which unfortunately did not come to fruition.
