Kolobrzeg - a city in northwestern Poland, located at the mouth of the Parsęta River, lying right on the Baltic Sea. Kolobrzeg has the status of a health resort, with as many as three summer seaside resorts.
The town itself was heavily damaged during World War II. After the fighting in 1945, when the German army capitulated, more than 90 buildings lay in ruins, but it was on March 18, 1945 that Poland's wedding with the sea took place, and more than 20 years later in 1967 the town was formally granted the status of a health resort.
Did you know that Kolobrzeg and the Kolobrzeg district is one of the most popular accommodation destinations in Poland? Kolobrzeg has a lot to offer, as it is a prominent town with tourism and spa qualities. The numbers speak for themselves, about 30 sanatoriums, over 6500 beds for guests, several dozen hotels have over 12 thousand beds for guests. It should be added that Kolobrzeg does not only have holiday homes, but also luxury hotels with the best SPA offer. Kolobrzeg is a city very much visited by foreign guests. It is estimated that as many as 40% of guests are from abroad, mainly Germany. During the year about a quarter of a million people use the hotel facilities in Kolobrzeg itself, the whole municipality is also popular. The number of visitors is high enough to place the town ahead of much larger cities.
In Kolobrzeg and the surrounding area there are mineral water springs, as well as brine and mud deposits. The city treats diseases of the upper respiratory tract, circulation, joints, as well as diabetes and other conditions.
During your stay, it is certainly worth taking a stroll on the pier (the longest concrete structure in Poland), seeing the Kolobrzeg Fortress, and the lighthouse. Smaller kids will certainly enjoy spending time in the oceanarium, for all the tourists, both younger and older, we recommend visiting the Maritime Museum in Kolobrzeg. The museum is located on Baltic Street and offers to watch the vessels. What is important, you can also look inside. After a day of sightseeing, take a walk on the boulevard Jan Szymanski, or promenade in Kolobrzeg.
