Krapkowice - a town located in Opolskie Voivodeship in Krapkowice County. The town's history dates back as far as 1294 when they were granted city rights. The history of this town is linked to two neighboring villages, which since 1962 have formed a single town. These were Krapkowice and Otmęt.
From the bus stop, which is located at the bus stop on Opolska 4, to the market square, it will take about 3 minutes to get there. It is the most representative part of this city. It is characterized by medieval buildings, that is, all around it old tenements one after another forming a rectangle. In the middle there is a fountain. In former years a wooden town hall stood there, but it burned down in 1845 and was never rebuilt again. Less than 150 meters from the market square to the east is Krapkowice Castle. The exact date of its construction is not known, but it is assumed that it already existed before Krapkowice was granted city rights. Unfortunately, little has survived of the structure's former appearance, including the walled-up arcades. Nowadays, the Opole Piast Vocational School Complex has its headquarters there. West of the market square, however, is the Upper Gate Tower, also known as Krapkowice Tower. It is also a symbol of the city. It was built in the 14th century and was done in the Gothic-Renaissance style.
