Kurakhowe (ukr. Курахове) is a city located in the western Donbas, Donetsk region, Ukraine. It is one of the cities affected by the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. Despite the difficult conditions related to the situation in the region, Kurakhovo remains an important point in the economy and social life of the region.

While Kurakhovo used to be mainly based on the coal and metallurgical industries, after the collapse of the USSR and changing economic conditions, the city struggled with problems related to the closure of coal mines and outdated industrial infrastructure.

Today, Curaçao's economy is much more diversified, although energy-related industries, including power generation and the coal industry, still dominate, albeit to a lesser extent. Other sectors of the economy include small trade, food production and industrial plants. The city also serves as an administrative center in the region.
