Limanowa - tourist attractions and sights of the city. What is worth seeing?

Limanowa is located in the Beskid Wyspowy mountains, west of Nowy Sącz, in a mountain valley , on the Sowlinka stream. The town is located at an altitude of about 400 to 700 meters above sea level.

This small but charming town is often visited by tourists.  They choose it as their destination for families with children, considering  mountain trails with a degree of difficulty suitable for children.

From the northern side we have the mountainous Łososńskie Range, from the southern  hill Lipowe. From  Town Mountain, on which stands the narrowest metal cross, there is a beautiful view. 

On the northern slope of Lysa Mountain is the "Limanowa-Ski" Ski Station.  You can use and ride  a four-person chairlift and, during winter madness,  two ski lifts. Ski trails are equipped with a snowmaking system as well as lighting.

Limanowa is also a sacred culture, beautiful historic churches and chapels of incredible value  historical and artistic.  In the center of Limanowa is the Basilica - Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows with a 60-meter tower. It serves as a monument to the 200th anniversary of the 3rd of May Constitution. The interior of the church is particularly noteworthy  Pieta statue called Our Lady of Limanova from the 14th century.

The church is richly decorated, its interior is stunning.

On Marka Street is located the historic Limanowa brewery, and behind them is the Mars Manor House, which houses the Limanowa Land Museum.

However, the biggest advantage of the town is its location, the beautiful landscape a number of hiking trails of varying difficulty for both hikers and those moving by bicycle. 

Mention should be made of Lysa Gora (781 meters above sea level). The peak is located in the southern part of the Losinski Range between Limanowa and Mordarka. The summit is all covered with trees, so there is no expansive view of the surrounding area. 

Lower down, on the southeastern shoulder of Lysa Gora is the Old Cross. The first cross from 1899  was of wooden construction. In the 1960s a new, concrete  15-meter high one was built. 

There is the aforementioned ski station with a chairlift.
