Welcome with Sinbad to Monaco!
Monaco is the smallest country after Vatican City. It lies in the south of Europe, by the Mediterranean Sea on the Côte d'Azur. Here are some facts about this country (note: the numbers may seem shocking, but it's not a mistake)
-Total land border: 4.4km
-Length of coast: 4.1km
-Length of railroad lines: 2km
-Length of paved roads: 50km
You can see for yourself that this city-state is so small as to be unbelievable. This city-state as some say is just over 2km square, headed by Prince Albert II since 2005. The numbers are also impressive when we talk about the wealth of the inhabitants, Monaco's GDP is about 5-6 billion dollars a year. As the land here is incredibly valuable, housing and apartments reach sky-high sums, this has resulted in natural vegetation virtually non-existent.
Monaco is not a member of the European Union, but has the right of association with other countries that are in the European Union. Interestingly, since 1918 France has had the right to station its troops on Monaco's soil, and it also has the right to approve international agreements. Monaco, although fully sovereign and independent, has a close relationship with France. Since 1919, France has pledged to defend Monaco's borders and sovereignty. Monaco is home to about 40,000 inhabitants, many immigrants from regions of France or Italy. The population is so large that natural vegetation is virtually nonexistent.
Monaco has a high per capita income. Many are involved in the service or tourist industries. Hotels or casinos are a significant industry. Due to favorable tax laws, Monaco is home to many foreign banks and companies. Monaco, although not a member of the European Union, is a member of the European Economic or Monetary Union, is also a member of the United Nations.
Monaco also electrifies all motorsport fans. It is here that the most famous race of the queen of motorsports - Formula 1 Race takes place. There is no track, the race takes place in the streets of Monaco, during the race weekend come all the richest, accommodation prices are skyrocketing. Who does not come to Monaco, but has a yacht, can come and moor in the beautiful harbor. The 2021 race is scheduled for Sunday, May 23.
