Praszka - a town located in Opolskie Province on the Prosna River. It was here that a battle was fought with Russian forces and Cossacks during the January Uprising in 1863. There is a mass grave in the cemetery, commemorating the 12 soldiers who died in the battle.
Tourists traveling to places associated with religion and saints will also find something of interest here. The 19th century Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary houses the relics of St. Valentine. Worth seeing by the way: a Baroque-style baptismal font or a classicist altar.
The youngest will find joy in an exhibition from the Regional Museum. The monument, actually an originally preserved locomotive with a passenger car, is a relic of the good times of the narrow-gauge railroad to Wieluń. Unique steam locomotives from 1953, can be admired near the center of Praszka, at 15 Grunwaldzki Square.
