Sanok - one of the southeasternmost cities in Poland. Sanok is a district town and lies in Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
Who doesn't remember Autosan buses? Many of you probably know that these characteristic buses, seen on Polish roads, were manufactured in Sanok. The beginnings of the company date back to 1832 ( yes, yes it's not a mistake 😊), originally it was a craft factory producing boilers, utility tools. In a later phase it started to produce tools for the oil industry, mining and brewing. Later, among other things, wagons were produced, but most of us associate the company with the production of buses. Production began in the 1960s, in the 1970s the factory employed over 7,000 people, and up to 4,000 buses were produced annually. The factory, although in a changed form and after transformations, still produces buses today.
For tourists visiting Sanok, we recommend the Gothic castle, rebuilt in a later stage into a Renaissance one. In the aforementioned castle there is the Historical Museum, and in it there is an exhibition of works by the famous Zdzislaw Beksinski.
We also recommend the building of the so-called Inn, where the Directorate of the Historical Museum in Sanok has its seat, and we recommend visiting the Archcathedral Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. Very charming is the Town Hall - a beautiful building in the market square of the town, dating from the eighteenth century.
