Welcome by bus to Starogard Gdanski!
Starogard Gdanski is a town in Pomeranian Voivodeship, on the Wierzyca River. It is one of the oldest towns in Pomerania.
During the times of the Noble Republic, the town was an important social and political center of the whole Pomerania. In the 19th century, despite the Prussian captivity, the level of industry increased greatly. At that time a boiler factory, a vodka and liqueur factory and a complex of mills were established. To this day, some of them still perform their original functions or are historical monuments.
Worth seeing places are also: the defensive walls and towers, the medieval Market Square, the Town Hall, the Wiechert Palace together with the mill complex, the neo-Gothic building of the Town Hall and the Barracks. There is also a Municipal Stadium named after Kazimierz Deyna, who himself started his adventure with soccer there.
Starogard Gdanski is best visited with a self-guide at the market, on the trail of Kazik Deyna or on the trail in the footsteps of the 2nd Rokitnian Cavalry Regiment. Just 2 km from the city is reportedly the only Museum of Slavic Mythology in Europe.
Sindbad buses stop in Starogard Gdanski at the bus station, Gdanski 35.
