Take the bus to Syców!
Syców is a town in Lower Silesia Province, located on the Mill River and on the border of the Twardowski Hills and the Ostrzeszowskie Hills. The name comes from the word "Syc", meaning miser, or from the name Sylvester.
First mentions come from the 13th century. In 1734 the princely Biron dynasty had a huge influence on the functioning of the city, among others they built a beautiful castle here. It was supposedly one of the most beautiful residences in Silesia. Unfortunately, there are no remains of it now. And its model we can see in the Regional Museum.
Today in Syców it is worth seeing square, where the castle was located and walk by the replicas of the sculptures from Versailles. The Evangelical Church is also a beautiful place and we can admire the panorama of Syców from the Bell Tower. It is worth mentioning the Municipal Park, the Kukułka Pond and the Lagoon in Stradomia to have even more contact with nature.
