Tychy - tourist attractions, monuments and Tyskie beer. What is worth seeing?

Tychy is located in the southern part of Poland, in the Silesian Province. Every year it attracts connoisseurs of architecture and urban planning because of its buildings and housing estates, which in an interesting way are arranged chronologically in a trail leading from the period of socialist realism to the works of postmodernism. The ruby sundial located in the center of the city is also an unusual tourist attraction and serves a didactic function for the local students. The authors of the sundial in Tychy are Henryk Jan Dominiak and physicist Dr. Lucjan Pajdzik, who works for Oxford University. The dial plate has a diameter of two meters and was made of three varieties of granite. The gnomon, the rose of the winds, the ring with zodiac signs and the clock's inscriptions are made of stainless steel. The 24 hours are marked on the clock, while those in which the sun indicates the time are symbolized by star rubies.

For those seeking relaxation the city of Tychy offers the Paprocany Recreation Center, where you can spend a nice time, and there is plenty of entertainment for the youngest. This picturesque spot located on the edge of the Pszczyna Forest offers swimming equipment rental, a water playground and basketball or volleyball courts. There are often festivals and other outdoor events held here.

Beer lovers should not forget about the Museum of Tyskie Browary Książęce! It is located on Katowicka Street. It is a gem of architecture in the region, but also a modern brewery. Beer has been brewed here continuously since 1629, making it the oldest brewery in Poland.
