Zaporezhye is a city in the southeastern part of Ukraine. It is a large significant city on the map of the country. The population exceeds 730 thousand, in fact, Zaporozhye is in the sixth place in terms of population cities of Ukraine.
The Zaporozhye agglomeration, because with its neighboring cities it is such, forms a large and important industrial and administrative district. As we mentioned Zaporozhye is a very important center primarily industrial-as a giant steel mill, the fourth steel producer in Ukraine, operates here. Another important industrial function is the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. The power plant is located on the opposite side of the Dnieper River, and together with the Dnieper Hydroelectric Plant is the largest producer of electricity in Ukraine.
When visiting Zaporizhzhya you will certainly recognize the giant dam-this dam on the Dnieper River was built in the early 20th century. This dam, which is part of the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant, has become a permanent part of the city's skyline.
For visitors to Zaporozhye, we recommend, among other things, the Museum of Aviation, aircraft machinery and engines - after all, it is in Zaporozhye that aircraft engines are manufactured. The museum is very popular, for mechanization or aviation enthusiasts it will be a big attraction.
For those who are tired of traveling, we recommend resting in the Khortytsya National Reserve. For Chortitsa is the largest island on the Dnieper River, it is one of the so-called Seven Wonders of Ukraine. The Chortitsa Reserve is a unique historical and natural region. The Chortitsa is seen by Ukrainians as a national and historical symbol.
Zaporezhye is not a city often visited by tourists, as the importance of the city is definitely more industrial than cultural.
