Pyskowice is a small town near Gliwice in the Silesian province. It is inhabited by a population of about 16,000 people. The most important monuments are located within the old town, which has preserved its former medieval urban layout to this day. There is also a Marian column from 1809 and a fountain from the first half of the 20th century. Lying in the Silesian province, near Gliwice, Pyskowice is a small town with a long history. Pyskowice was first mentioned in 1256, in a document by Wrocław bishop Thomas. The town was granted city rights in 1260.
