Welcome by bus to Miedzyzdroje!
Miedzyzdroje - a town in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, located on the Baltic Sea, with a population of about 6000. It is a seaside, tourist and leisure center. The city hosted the famous Star Festival until 2006, when the ceremony was moved to Gdansk. However, after a break of several years, new handprints are again appearing in Miedzyzdroje. The origins of the Star Festival date back to 1996 when the first edition of this event was held. At that time, Miedzyzdroje was the summer capital of culture, where, over the course of several days, one could get acquainted with premieres in Polish art. On the Avenue of the Stars we can see about 200 handprints of well-known figures of Polish cinematography.
There are two sea bathing beaches in the city, there is also a pier here. The first pier in Miedzyzdroje was wooden and was built as early as 1884. The 370-meter-long pier was put into use in 1906, and the construction was funded by one of the local businessmen. In the same year a passenger marina was built. The pier suffered badly in 1985, when it suffered a partial collapse after one of the storms. A decision was made to rebuild it, the final result had to wait until 2005 when the 395-meter-long concrete pier was put back into use.
The location of Miedzyzdroje, the wide, sandy beaches and the proximity of the Wolin National Park are appreciated by tourists from Poland and Europe, especially Miedzyzdroje hosts a large number of tourists from Germany. It is estimated that up to 25% of tourists come to Miedzyzdroje from abroad.
During your stay, it is worth taking a walk along the Promenade of Stars. We also recommend taking a stroll along the pier or seeing the Museum of Wax Figures. A short distance away, in the aforementioned Wolin National Park, we can see the Bison Show Enclosure, as well as the Natural History Museum of the Wolin National Park. A visit to the oceanarium and planetarium( a large,7-meter dome, the planetarium can accommodate 54 viewers) will be quite a treat for both older and younger visitors. It is also worth a little rest in the Frederic Chopin Spa Park. The park is home to magnificent oaks and yews, among others, and in its center we can see a bust of the famous Polish composer. Also recently opened was a Parrotarium, where we can admire dozens of specimens of these beautiful birds.
