Chust is a district town in Ukraine, Transcarpathian Oblast, located at the mouth of the Rika River to the Tisza River, in the Marmara Basin.The first written mention of Chust dates back to 1329, when the town was granted privileges. In 1353 Chust was the seat of a castellan. In 1526 the city was within the borders of the Transylvanian Principality, but already in 1546 it was captured by the army of Emperor Ferdinand I.
