Pochayiv is a small town in Ukraine, located in the Ternopil region. The biggest attraction and symbol of the town is the Pochaiv Lavra - one of the most important Orthodox monasteries in Ukraine, often referred to as the "Ukrainian Athos." The monastery complex impresses with its Baroque architecture, golden domes and richly decorated interiors. It houses the famous Miraculous Icon of Our Lady of Pochaivska and the imprint of Our Lady's foot in the rock, which is believed to have healing properties.
The surroundings of Pochaiv are characterized by a picturesque landscape with numerous hills and valleys. Near the village there are recreational areas and scenic parks, ideal for walking and relaxing in nature. Nearby flows the Ikva River, which adds to the charm of this historic village.
