Slonim (Belarusian: Слонім) is a city located in the western part of Belarus, in the Grodno region, on the Iwia River. It is one of the most important cities in the region, and its history dates back to the Middle Ages.
Modern Slonim is a city whose economy is based mainly on the food, machinery and timber industries. The region around the city is agricultural, with crops of grains, vegetables and fruits.
